Our work began with a simple question. How can genuine tea remain accessible when days rarely allow the time or tools that traditional brewing demands?
The answer became our TeaCaps.
Through carefully refined freeze-drying technology, we preserve the aroma, flavour and full character of premium tea and place it within stylish, portable capsules. Our instant teas dissolve quickly in hot or cold water. The result is not an imitation of tea, but the living essence of it. Clear, expressive and deeply connected to the leaf that started it all.
The story behind Untea’d
I grew up in southern China, where tea has always lingered in the background of daily life. People would say, “Have tea when you have the time.” Yet for many years, that time felt hard to find. Tea became a distant companion, met only in passing moments.
While studying in the United States, a mentor introduced me to freeze-dried tea that bloomed instantly in cold water. What stayed with me was not only the convenience but the surprising fragrance and clarity. It carried the depth of a carefully brewed cup.
That small moment remained. Later, while studying food science and agriculture in Melbourne, I returned to the idea. Since 2022, we have focused on crafting TeaCaps that preserve the true soul of tea and fit more easily into contemporary life. Untea’d grew from the wish to help people reconnect with tea, without the usual barriers of time or tools.
Sourcing, sustainability and long-term responsibility: Tea has always depended on harmony between people and the land. That understanding guides our decisions. Our packaging is designed to be kept and reused. Each box functions as a photo frame, ready to hold personal images or messages instead of becoming waste. All materials are FSC-certified, recyclable and chosen to minimise environmental impact. We prioritise organic ingredients and farming practices that protect soil and local ecosystems.
Looking ahead, we hope to support younger generations of tea growers by helping rural communities connect with international audiences while honouring local traditions.

We do not believe tea should be reduced to mere convenience. A good tea carries the landscape it came from, the hands that tended it, and the quiet habits built around drinking it. Preserving those qualities matters to us.

Our tea dissolves seamlessly into water, milk or sparkling drinks. It lends itself to cocktails, desserts and baking. We see tea not as limited to one form, but as a versatile ingredient full of possibilities, while never compromising its integrity.

Sourcing tea at the origin
Every region speaks differently through its tea. Climate, soil, elevation and local knowledge shape the cup in ways that cannot be copied.
Our team spends time directly in tea-growing communities rather than sourcing from afar. Across several spring harvests, we lived alongside growers, participating in cultivation, picking, processing and tasting.
We are drawn especially to the teas that local people drink most often. These cups carry an honesty and balance that experienced tea drinkers recognise straight away. Our goal is to bring forward the flavour that feels most true to its place.
Tea has long been given as a gesture of care and closeness; our packaging reflects that spirit. The framed design allows the central image to be fully personalised. For corporate gifts or collaborations, the outer box can be customised, with the option to soften or remove our branding.
